Story of 7 Sorrows Chaplet
The Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows, also known as the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows, is a prayer that honors the sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It consists of seven groups of seven beads, each representing a significant sorrow of Mary. The chaplet was reintroduced to the world during the 1980s Marian apparitions in Kibeho, Rwanda, where Our Lady of Kibeho recommended it for prayer to obtain favor of repentance. The devotion emphasizes the need for prayer, conversion, and suffering as part of the path to salvation. The chaplet is prayed using a special rosary and is associated with the seven sorrows of Mary, which are meditations on biblical events that reveal her unique participation in the mystery of redemption.
