(a) Jerusalem Cross (also known as the Crusader’s Cross).

It features a large central cross with four smaller crosses (sometimes omitted or stylized) and is one of the oldest Christian symbols, representing Christ and the spread of the Gospel to the four corners of the world.

(b)  Bottony Cross (also called a Cross Botonée or Cross Botonnée).

It’s characterized by its four rounded or bud‑shaped arms, each ending in a trefoil or petal‑like form — symbolizing new life and the Trinity. The petals are elongated, giving it a stylized, almost floral look. This cross is often used in Catholic heraldry and liturgical embroidery, representing faith blossoming and the fruitfulness of grace.
