PRAYER CARD – Face of Jesus Relic

To ensure fair access for all and due to the limited availability of relic card, purchases are limited to 3 per customer.

Cards were touched to the sacred relics of Our Lord including the True Cross, Holy Shroud, and Veronica’s Veil. The card features a photonegative picture of the Holy Face on the Shroud. The holy cards are printed on thick 14-16pt card stock then UV gloss coated to give them a laminated feel. Finished size is 2.75 inches by 4.25 inches.

The ENTIRE card is a relic, not just a small piece. The sacred relics shown in the pictures are to demonstrate how the cards are touched. The sacred relics are not included.

Relics, Veneration, and Intercessory Prayer:
Relics are physical objects associated with Our Lord and the saints, such as items from Our Lord’s Passion or bodily remains of a saint (“first class relics”) or items they owned or used (“second class relics”). The Church refers to these items together as “sacred relics”. Third class relics are devotional items touched to sacred relics such as prayer cards, oils, medals or rosaries. Veneration is the practice of showing respect and reverence. The Church teaches that we are part of the communion of saints and that the saints serve as models and intercessors. Through veneration, intercessory prayer, and invocation, we ask the saints to pray for us to God so that our own prayers to God may be more effective, that we may be brought closer to Christ, and successful in our battles against sin. Veneration is not worship. Worship is reserved exclusively for God.

Miracles and Healing:
The Fathers of the Church, such as St John Chrysostom and St Augustine, have attested to the miracles of healing and other great works that were granted by God through the veneration of relics and we see those still happening today. In the Bible, we also find several examples including the account of a bleeding woman who was healed after faithfully touching Our Lord’s cloak, and how God healed people of physical and spiritual infirmities through the application of cloths that touched St Paul as well as those upon whom the shadow of St Peter fell. It’s important to note that it is not the relic doing the healing, but God and His Grace working through it.

This is a Third Class Relic. It was touched to a relic of the Shroud of Turin, the Holy Burial Shroud of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The card features a photonegative picture of the Holy Face on the Shroud. The holy cards are printed on thick 14-16pt card stock then UV gloss coated to give them a laminated feel. Finished size is 2.75 inches by 4.25 inches.

About Relics: From the earliest days of Christianity, relics have been venerated by the faithful. This included items associated with Jesus as well as bones, clothing, and others items left behind by martyrs and holy men and women of the faith. We are reminded of the beautiful passage in the Gospels of the miracle of the bleeding woman who was healed by the touching of Jesus’ cloak and her faith, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed” (Matthew 9:21).
