Safety guide:
- Never burn unattended. Use in well-ventilated containers and on heat-resistant surfaces.
- Keep wicks trimmed or it will tend to smoke
- Keep lit candles out of drafts. Drafts create large flames causing candles to burn unevenly, drip and smoke
- Keep candles out of strong light. It will make colors fade.
- If candles appears ready to drip, extinguish candle and allow to cool before re-lighting
- To prevent candles from boring a hole in the middle, burn candles for at least one hour for each inch in diameter. For example, burn a 3-inch candle at least 3 hours
- Store candles in a cool place as cool wax burns longer
- Candles burned close to one another will affect each burning quality due to their combine heat. Bear this in mind when creating decorative arrangements.
- Store candles in zip lock bags to conserve their scent and keep
- Light and extinguish candles to light more quickly and easily later
- When burning votive candles it is a good idea to place a small amount of water (approx. 0.5 teaspoon) in the bottom of the votive holder, this keeps the glass from cracking in the event that it is forgotten and helps to make cleaning of the holder easier
- To ensure the most even burn, pillar candles should be burned long enough to create a pool of was that comprises most of its diameter.
